Altea, wormwood and fenugreek are three plants characterised by mucilage.

Plant mucilage is a hydrophilic film-forming substance that forms a film on the stratum corneum that can retain water. They are therefore very useful for retaining moisture for longer.

Altea and fenugreek are plants of the Ayurvedic tradition. Altea is used to balance the Vata and Pitta Ayurvedic doshas, Methi for the Vata and Kapha doshas.

In the formula, they work in combination with other moisturising agents capable of retaining water, i.e. hyaluronic acid, betaine and saccharide isomerate. The latter also has good rinsing properties and therefore retains its properties for a long time.

Ayurvedic origin

Meti or fenugreek is a plant that is recognised in Ayurveda as having various properties, including hair strengthening, combating hair loss and hair growth. It is therefore very useful when hair is sparse, thin and weak.

Altea (Khatmī): softens the skin and hair due to its mucilage, anti-inflammatory, useful for dry, sensitive skin, inflammation and eczema. It also has good antioxidant properties.

In Ayurveda, it is recommended to soothe Vata and Pitta doshas.

Recommendations for use

Apply to damp, wet or dry hair and style as desired.

The result may vary: on dripping hair, the effect will be natural and soft; on damp hair, it may form a sticky effect (wet hardness, which you can remove with Dipika Ayurvedic Liquid Crystals); on dry hair, it may form a firm and strong effect, ideal for fixing the top of the head.

To fix baby hair, use a small amount of gel and comb through with an old toothbrush or brow brush.

You can use AyurGel in combination with Rasayana Anti-Frizz Leave-in Conditioner and Dipika Ayurvedic Liquid Crystals.
