Argan tree

The argan tree is one of the oldest trees in the world, growing in southwestern Morocco for millions of years. Unfortunately, it, like many other ancient plant species, is threatened with extinction, along with the entire Amazin Berber culture. Since the argan tree has long been their source of livelihood, and the Berbers of the Amazon are the supplier of argan oil, its unique raw material, in 1998. UNESCO declared this cultivation area a biosphere reserve and cultural heritage.

Argan oil ingredients

Argan oil contains more than 80% unsaturated fatty acids. The proportion of linoleic and oleic acid is much higher than in olive oil. Argan oil is extremely high in alpha-tocopherol. Tocopherols are compounds of vitamin E. Compared to other vegetable oils, their concentration in argan oil is much higher. Argan oil also contains rare plant sterols such as spinasterol, schottenol and squalene. Argan oil contains a unique combination of these rare plant substances. Numerous scientific studies show the exceptional importance of sterols.
