Traditionally in Ayurveda, massage is included in the morning or evening body care routine and is best done before or right after bed.

Self-massage is best done sitting, on a large towel or an easily washable mat. Try to choose a warm, quiet and cozy place. Take some oil of your choice and rub it all over your body starting from the head. A light scalp massage will give you a sense of happiness, help prevent headaches and slow down hair loss and graying. Apply the oil to your body before going to bed to help you fall asleep and improve your sleep.

Oil massage improves blood circulation, calms the mind and reduces excess Vata. The skin becomes soft, smooth and shiny. Oil massage cleans and refreshes the body, removes fatigue, gives strength and freshness.

Use: Apply to the entire body from the feet to the neck with circular massage movements. Apply daily or as needed.
